I hit the ground running and am up and out of the house before the sun or the visitors have risen. I run into and around the city basking in the glorious sunshine. The views around the harbour are sublime and I am really getting into my stride. I’m not alone. It seems like everyone is running this town this morning and it feels good to be part of it!
I’m no speed hog but I do run a new Personal Best in terms of distance and clock up another 16km. I’m pumped! Back at the ranch, there’s time to refresh, refuel and fetch the visitors before we head out to enjoy the sunshine. It may be Winter but it feels like Summer!
It always gives me great pleasure to show off my suburb, and my city, and with the sun shining and the sky so blue, Sydney is looking mighty fine. I take the girls through Wendy’s Secret Garden, around the harbourside, and into the Coney Island style Luna Park before jumping on a ferry and crossing the harbour.
We take some time to savour the scenery with some liquid refreshment in the Opera Bar before we take a wonderful walk on the harbourside through the Botanic Gardens and the Domain. The sun is shining and the views are amazing. We’re loving it! Sydney is such a loveable city!
After our afternoon stroll, we head around the harbour for a spot of high tea at the Park Hyatt. It’s tea-licious! The food is fantastic and the scenery is stunning. We love it – especially Bev’s bit of birthday cake! Fifty and fabulous!
We’re not done with the high life just yet. We do not pass GO, we do not collect $200, instead we head straight for the Shangri-La where we shoot up to Blu Bar on 36 for birds eye view of the city, cool cocktails and where we watch the sunset over the city. Awesome!
It’s been an excellent but exhausting day so we head home for a sojourn on the sofa. Those cocktails have cracked our appetite and later we all tuck into the Chipolata and Spring Onion Frittata with some Ultimate Greek Salad on the side. The left over Flourless Coconut and Almond Cake is devoured for dessert but there’s just enough left to keep the Feeder Programme ticking over tomorrow!
