I add another string to my running recovery bow today. I’m up with the birds and out pounding the pavement. I run around the block for 5km and although I make good time, I find the distance to be lacking! If only I had as much time as I have energy, I could easily double the distance!
Later, I go to Kerren’s for another one of her magic massages. I am now my muscles best friend. They must surely love me after all the TLC that is being lavished upon them. I leave feeling like a new and really relaxed woman!
I’m going to see my counsellor tomorrow and I wouldn’t dream of rocking up empty handed. I know people at her place have a penchant for chocolate, because she is the number 1 fan of my Hedgehog Slice. I don’t like to serve the same thing twice, and I’m short on time, so I get down and dirty making Emma Morris’s Rocky Road. The ingredients list alone is making my mouth water, so heaven help me, when the “road” is ready. Emma is from a primary school in one of the Olympic London Boroughs and her recipe is part of a feature in UK BBC Good Food magazine. I’m thinking that being from the Olympic city, this has to be a winner, and as it’s from a school age someone, it has to be easy as child’s play!
My race recovery is now complete; a morning run, an afternoon massage and an evening wrestling with Emma Morris’s Rocky Road. I’m all good!
