I can hardly believe a year ago today I was having a check up ultrasound on my thyroid. My ignorance really was bliss. I had no idea what was coming, but knowing now what was up ahead, that’s not such a bad thing!
Ironically, I’m back at the doctor again today, but this time touching base with my GP. Funnily enough, I’m not visiting because I’m sick, just to catch up on some paperwork, as I need a new referral letter for my visit with the Prof in a few weeks. It will be good to see him, and I am sure he will be rapt with the results, but he can’t perform any more surgery on me, he’s taken everything I have! Bar, a few lymph nodes in my neck! I guess it’s going to be more of a social visit and a bit of a boost to the Feeder Programme!
While my letter is printing and my prescriptions are filling, my GP and I catch up and talk cake! My doctor’s daughter is also a mad baker and she tells me about a brilliant baking store that stocks everything my heart desires, and maybe more, and it’s only one suburb away! How excited am I?!
It’s nice to see Bev, the receptionist too, and she is loving the Butterscotch Cookies. We decide that it makes no difference if she eats them now or later, the calories remain the same, so she tucks in with gusto. I have a box of biscuits for the doctor too, so the Feeder Programme is in full swing.
This Wednesday I am in for a treat as David doesn’t have football, which sucks for him but it’s sweet for me! By the time he gets home, the house is full of the essence of Coffee and Walnut Oat Slice, if it tastes as good as it smells, we’re in for a treat! Dinner is Olive Tuna Pasta a la Thermie direct from the thermie – our favourite because it’s fast and fabulous!
The time I save slaving over the stove now, I spend having fun in the kitchen later. After extensive research on the internet, I sterilise my first jar and make my first load of Lemon Butter in the Thermomix. This is fun! I might turn into the Preserve Princess!
