The first week of the year has already finished and I’ve still got my 2 challenges on the go. I’m going great guns with Jo’s January Body Springclean and I’m also keeping creative with Fat Mum Slim’s Photo a Day.
More about the Springclean later, so in the meantime, here it is, my week in photos!
Day 1 was Today. This is how we spent the day or part of it, anyways. We took a stroll down to our local where we sat out on the deck with a long, cool drink and soaked up the view. Even after all these years, I still get goosebumps when I look at the harbour – it’s as breathtakingly beautiful to me now, as it was the first time I set eyes upon it!
Day 2 was Something New which was very fitting because I was back to work for a new term, in a new classroom with a new class, and of course, new, and I might add, very lovely students. There’s nothing more refreshing than a new beginning.
Chantelle over at Fat Mum Slim, is going to donate a prompt to charity each month to raise awareness and in January it’s The heart and lung transplant trust. So prompt number 3 was for them. Day 3 was Heart. This beautiful objet d’art was a gift that Sarah gave us when she came to visit. I love the way it sparkles against the sunset. The heart and lung transplant trust are holding a photographic competition over this month to bring awareness in the lead up to Donate Life Week 2013{24th February – 3rd March 2013}. The photo competition is titled Life Flashes, and I was pretty stoked when I was asked for permission to use my photo in a photo collage on behalf of The heart and lung transplant trust in a large photo mosaic for the Donate Life Week Photographic exhibition.
Day 4 was the view from here. I was up with the birds and out running with Kathy and this was a run with a view. The harbour was looking so beautiful in the early morning light, we just had to make a photo stop!
Day 5 was movement and we were moving and grooving our way around the harbour on a bushwalk with the most amazing harbour views. It was great to be out and about and enjoy the sunshine and the scenery!
Day 6 was mine. I can’t think of a better way to wrap up the week than with a photo of my blog. I love how it has evolved from the dark days of my word tsunamis when I was coming to terms with cancer, to something that gives me a purpose, keeps me out of mischief and has allowed me to do more of, and share the things I love, like cooking, running and other random Sam stuff. I like to think that the blog, like the law of the universe, is like Winter that has turned into Spring.
If you want to play, just start today. Start snapping and have some fun with your photos. Here’s how!
