Halloween Chocolate Bark

Halloween Chocolate Bark

When I was in the States, I became obsessed with American candy and America’s obsession with Halloween. I would spend ages in the supermarket aisles just staring at all the delicious looking candy and was fascinated with all things Halloween. And don’t get me started on all the different pumpkins!

Anyhoo, one day in Walgreen’s, my love of candy and the American love of Halloween manifested itself in a bag of Autumn (and when I say Autumn, I mean Halloween,) candy.

Of course, I had to buy some, and buy some I did. My only regret is I didn’t buy more. I wanted to bring home ALL the candy of every kind but I did have that pesky baggage allowance to consider. I was very restrained in my candy spending and only came home with a handful of edibles for gifts, my “Autumn candy” and a couple of bags of Peanut Butter M&Ms… Because Peanut Butter.

I decided chocolate bark would be the best and most delicious way to showcase my Halloween treats. If you want to try this too, just remember to be organised, have your candy ready and separate your M&M colours first because setting chocolate waits for no one. If you’re anything like me you’ll leave the orange, yellow and brown ones for the bark, and eat the other colours as you go! There’s already a Facebook page lobbying M&Ms to bring the peanut butter version to Australia because every person needs some peanut butter M&Ms in their life.  As for the candy corn, you can find that in speciality candy stores or if you’re game enough, you can even make your own!

I worried how the bark would last in this heat but I needn’t have gotten grey hairs over it, all my taste testers said it was so delicious, it didn’t last long enough to melt! This bark is all treat and no tricks. Making it is easy as. Try it for yourself, if you don’t believe me!

So tell me are you a fan of Halloween? How about peanut butter? Do you love it or leave it?
