Taking Stock – September 2024

This year is really picking up some speed – I can’t believe it’s October already! Before I get stuck into the (almost) new month, I’m taking a quick look back and taking stock of the old one. September was one to remember for all the right reasons and here’s why…

Baking: This Banana and Carrot Cake – it’s a keeper!

Borrowing: The cake stand from my friend as I don’t have space to store one of my own!

Making: A lot of crumbles – blackberry and apple has been on high rotation.

Looking: After little Belle while her pawrents were on holiday. She was a model house guest.

Cooking: More chicken pie – it’s been the weather for it!

Jetting: Off to Porto for a few days.

Drinking: Port of course!

Eating: All the local delicacies especially the pastel de nata. So good!

Posting: The recipe for this Lemon and Blackberry Traybake.

Sharing: 3 of the best ways to see Vilnius if you’re short on time and/or money.

Joining: Sherry and friends for this month’s edition of In My Kitchen.

Receiving: So much lovely produce from friends and neighbours.

Wondering: What to do with these chokos and also why are they called choko down under and chow chow over here?!

Celebrating: 2 years of living in the UK. I just don’t know where the time has gone!

Thinking: Of posting a 2 year back in the UK update so if you have any questions – fire away!

Chatting: To Annie and Steve from Londoner in Sydney about what it’s like to move back to the UK on their podcast.

Watching: Will and Harper on Netflix – I’d been waiting all month for it to drop and it didn’t disappoint.

Reading: The Burnout by Sophie Kinsella – the perfect holiday read.

Hosting: Our dear friends Judy and Dave from Sydney.

Taking: The obligatory photo in the blue box at Burghley House.

Giving: The guest room a bit of an autumnal makeover with some new bedding, cushions and lamps.

Marvelling: At my new nails.

Loving: Being a 2 dog family even if for a short while.

Liking: All the autumn and cosy vibes and decor especially this gorgeous wreath gifted by a friend.

Disliking: All the rain we’ve had – it’s seriously soggy!

Buying: This beautiful plate back in Porto.

Adding: This teapot and milk jug to my blue and white collection – kindly gifted by our friends.

Catching: Up with two of my old school friends – good times!

Going: To the gym for the first time in 2 years. It wasn’t pretty!

Pondering: Why Teddy didn’t win most handsome dog at the local dog show? I mean just look at him! He was robbed!

How was your September? Tell me everything in the comments!
