Taking Stock – March 2025

My taking stock post is a ‘little’ late this year but I’m working on the premise, better late than never. In her last message to me before she passed, my dear friend told me to “enjoy every day” so that’s what I tried to do in March. It looked a bit like this…

Making: Crepes with my mum’s crepe pan from the 70’s! It still makes perfect crepes.

Baking: Shortbread with my neighbour. It was the ultimate shortbread masterclass!

Cooking: Dumplings, dumplings and more dumplings.

Drinking: Portugese wine – it’s so delicious and takes me back to Porto.

Eating: This epic beef brisket pie on a Pie Night at the Bertie Arms in nearby Uffington.

Laughing: And crying at Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy.

Reading: Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy.

Listening: To Scouting For Girls – makes me happy!

Singing: And dancing my way around Soho with the girls on a Silent Disco Walking Tour. So much fun!

Watching: Running Point, Toxic Town and Adolesence – all on Netflix.

Hosting: Some wonderful friends and being a tourist in my own town.

Joining: Up with Sherry and friends for this month’s edition of In My Kitchen.

Posting: This recipe for Raspberry and Coconut Pudding. Don’t want to be pushy but you have to try!

Finding: My reading mojo and sharing some of my recent reads.

Pressing: Publish on my first 10 on 10 post in a very long while!

Sending: Out a newsletter too! Who even am I?

Squeezing: In a weekend trip to Birmingham.

Seeing: Ocean Colour Scene at Birmingham Utilita Arena. It was just like old times.

Catching: Up with Jo from And Anyways and her husband in Stamford – such a treat!

Walking: All over town on my self guided tour.

Enjoying: A beer at The George Hotel which dates back to 9 AD!

Getting: My hair did.

Giving: My office (which is also the laundry room) a makeover.

Loving: My new space.

Liking: The first beer garden visit of the year. (Spoiler alert: It won’t be our last)

Disliking: The state of the world right now. Sigh.

Starting: A course to teach English online to international students. Exciting!

Planting: Some pansies out the front and hoping my fingers are green.

Trying: To be a grown up and doing my Power of Attorney.

Planning: Some trips – everyone needs something to look forward to!

So that was my March in a nutshell. How was yours?
